It's the most wonderful time of the year!

I love the fall. I really do.

The crispness in the air, the changing leaf colors, football season and the change of wardrobe from sundresses to turtlenecks. It's all good.

So far, this fall, the Gamecocks are performing solidly on the football field, the Huskies are blowing beyond all expectations and the new looks from Fashion Week including some fun new colors. I'm looking forward to the leaves changing color AND:

A couple of years ago, our office added another thing to love about the fall: crock pot lunch. It started as a random thing our nut-bag IT guy did in the product lab, but has become a tradition. Last year, the tradition went through a re-branding of sorts and is now known as "Crocktober" (we use crock pots...in October...it's good, right?)

Crocktober kicks off next week and every Wednesday a volunteer host (or two) will prepare lunch. People who want to participate kick in some cash to offset costs and help themselves to the deliciousness that is slow-cooked foods.

Shortly after the kick-off of Crocktober in Seattle, the soggy gray nasty sets in, rendering most of us angry and depressed and (at the very least) pale and damp. Warm, comforting food offsets this. In that way, Crocktober is really more of a mission-critical workplace necessity, than merely lunch.

The only thing that would make Crocktober better would be the addition of a nice warm "adult" beverage. Hmm...maybe we should start Rumvember...or Decider...or Drinkuary....
